Why track Trulicity at all

Trulicity is dulaglutide, a once-weekly GLP-1 with a half-life of about five days and a median time to peak near 48 hours. Steady state arrives somewhere between the second and fourth dose, so the first month on any strength is a moving target rather than a settled one. A record of which week you were on which dose is what turns that month into something you can actually read afterwards.

Dulaglutide is approved for glycemic control in type 2 diabetes and for lowering cardiovascular risk. It is not approved for weight management, which makes the numbers worth tracking slightly different from the weight-first compounds: HbA1c between clinic visits, blood pressure, resting heart rate and side effects during the weeks after a strength change. OptiPin plots bloodwork results on the same timeline as the doses, so a lab value is read against the dose you were on when it was drawn rather than against the date alone.

The pen itself removes one job and leaves another. It is a fixed single-dose device, so there is nothing to dial and no clicks to count. What is easy to lose is the date of a strength change. That is exactly the thing you want in front of you when a side effect shows up three weeks later.

What the OptiPin Trulicity tracker does

Weekly dose log + reminders
Record each pen on a once-weekly cadence and get reminded on the due day so a dose never slips.
Dose-step tracking
Record which of the four approved strengths you are on and the date it changed, so later effects have a reference point.
Level forecast between pens
OptiPin models dulaglutide on published pharmacokinetics and charts estimated amount on board, including the climb to steady state.
Bloodwork on the dose timeline
Log HbA1c, lipids and the rest, then read each result against the dose you were on when it was drawn.
Weight & measurements
Log weight, or pull it from Apple Health, then see it charted over your injections.
Side-effect & symptom logging
Note nausea, appetite, energy and mood, then see how they line up with each dose week.
Injection-site rotation
Track which site you used last so you can rotate abdomen, thigh and upper arm consistently.
CSV import & export
Bring an existing dose history in from a spreadsheet, or export your log to share with a clinician.

OptiPin tracks Trulicity alongside Ozempic, Mounjaro and Victoza or Saxenda on one timeline, which matters most during a switch: dulaglutide's five-day half-life means it is still clearing for two to three weeks after the last pen. That overlap is easier to see drawn than to hold in your head.

Free dose tools for Trulicity

Calculators that pair with tracking, no app needed to use them:

The pen click chart does not apply to Trulicity: its pen delivers one fixed dose with no selector, so there is nothing to convert. Reconstitution math does not apply either, because the pen arrives pre-filled.

One app for everything you're on

Most people on dulaglutide are on other things too, often metformin, a statin or blood-pressure medication. All of it belongs on one timeline with one set of insights instead of fragmented across a notes file and your memory. That is the difference between logging a drug and seeing your protocol.

Not medical advice. Trulicity is a prescription medicine and carries a boxed warning for thyroid C-cell tumors; it is not for anyone with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or multiple endocrine neoplasia type 2. It is not approved for weight management. OptiPin records and reminds. It does not recommend a dose, a titration speed, or whether to take dulaglutide. The strengths above are the approved label range, stated as fact and not as guidance. Follow your prescriber and discuss any change with a qualified clinician.

FAQ

Is there an app to track Trulicity?

Yes, OptiPin. You log each weekly pen, record which strength you are on, rotate sites, chart weight and lab results over the dose timeline, note side effects and get reminders. It is on iPhone, stores data on-device and needs no account.

Is Trulicity approved for weight loss?

No. Dulaglutide is approved for glycemic control in type 2 diabetes and for reducing cardiovascular risk. Weight change is a reported secondary effect in its trials, which is why OptiPin charts weight alongside the doses, but it is not the approved indication. For the compounds approved for weight management see the GLP-1 guide.

Which Trulicity doses can I track?

All four approved weekly strengths: 0.75, 1.5, 3.0 and 4.5 mg. The pen is a fixed single-dose device, so there is no dialing or click counting. What is worth recording is which strength you are on and the date you changed.

Does OptiPin forecast dulaglutide levels?

Yes. It models a roughly 5 day half-life with a median time to peak near 48 hours and charts estimated amount on board across your logged doses, including the climb to steady state between the second and fourth dose. It is a model rather than a blood test.

Is the OptiPin Trulicity tracker free?

Free to download and start tracking. Core dose logging and reminders are in the free tier; Premium adds CSV import and export plus unlimited history.

Educational only, not medical advice. Trulicity (dulaglutide) is a prescription medicine. OptiPin is a tracking tool and does not provide dosing, titration or treatment advice. If you develop severe or persistent abdominal pain, stop injecting and seek medical care, as pancreatitis has been reported with this drug class. Discuss any GLP-1 medication with a qualified clinician.
