Feature Guide

OptiPin Features:
What the App Actually Does

A complete reference for every OptiPin feature, organized the way you'd actually use them. Each section maps to what's in the app today.

For educational purposes only. Not medical advice.

⏱️ Tracking & Scheduling

The core of the app: log what you take, when, and where.

Dose logging

Quick-log any medication with dose, time, location, and notes. Long-press for the rapid-log menu. Logs back-fill so you can record doses you forgot at the actual time they happened.

Smart scheduling

Daily, weekly, twice-weekly, every-other-day, custom-cycle (5-on/2-off, 4-on/3-off), titration ramps, and planned off-cycles. Per-day-of-week dose variation supported.

Discreet reminders

Notifications fire on your custom schedule with quiet, neutral copy. No medication name in the notification body by default.

Injection-site rotation

Six SubQ and IM site presets (abdomen, thighs, hips, triceps, ventrogluteal, deltoid). The next-shot site auto-advances as you log. Visual rotation map in Settings. Advanced sites (anterior/lateral/rear delt, biceps) available.

Medication groups

Build custom groups (e.g. "Morning stack", "Cycle support") and drag medications between them. Groups expand and collapse together.

Multi-compound protocols

Run TRT, GLP-1, peptides, and supplements concurrently with each compound on its own schedule and inventory.

🧮 Calculators & Reconstitution Math

The math that ruins peptide cycles, automated.

In-app peptide calculator

Enter vial size, BAC water added, and target dose to compute syringe units. Or enter units and desired dose to compute BAC water needed.

Free web calculator

Same engine at optipin.app/peptide-calculator, no login, no install.

Stack expansion

One-tap pre-set blends: Wolverine, GLOW, KLOW, GH Stack (IPA+CJC), Healing & Inflammation, Growth + Healing, Anti-Aging.

TRT dose calculator

Free / bioavailable testosterone estimation, split-dose calculator, half-life PK visualizer.

GLP-1 calculator

Per-dose syringe units for semaglutide, tirzepatide, retatrutide, and orforglipron at every common vial concentration.

Intranasal spray calculator

For nasal-route peptides: mL per spray, sprays per dose, doses per bottle.

💊 Medication Library

A reference for the compounds the app tracks, with educational dosing notes.

200+ compounds

Across TRT, HRT, GLP-1s, growth peptides, fat loss, longevity, cognitive enhancers, cardiovascular, neurosteroids, and supplements.

Per-compound details

Half-life, route, typical dosing range, mechanism notes, common stacks.

Custom medications

Add anything not in the library. Custom name, custom unit, custom schedule.

App categories

Mirrors the website pillar structure: TRT, GLP-1, Growth, Fat Loss, Longevity, Cognitive, Specialty, Vitamins, Cardiovascular.

📈 Estimated Levels & Forecasting

What the math says your levels look like between draws. Not a substitute for labs, but an answer to "is now a good time to test?"

Testosterone estimation

Models your trough, peak, and current T based on dose log and ester half-life. Supports cypionate, enanthate, propionate, and undecanoate.

DHT estimation

Modeled separately from T so users on DHT-supplemental protocols can see the curve directly.

E2 (estradiol) estimation

Uses testosterone level, AI use (anastrozole / letrozole), exogenous E2, and last bloodwork as anchor.

GLP-1 estimation

Models compound levels for semaglutide, tirzepatide, retatrutide, and orforglipron between doses.

Compound overlay

Plot all compound curves on the same axis to see how they interact across the week.

🩺 Apple Health & Bloodwork Import

Labs and metrics flow in automatically and plot against your dose timeline.

Auto-import lab results

Bloodwork in your Apple Health record (testosterone, free T, SHBG, sensitive E2, hematocrit, A1c, fasting glucose, lipid panel, CMP) flows in automatically.

Manual lab entry

Enter values from a paper copy via Health Metrics if your lab doesn't push to Apple Health.

Range detection

Automatic out-of-range flagging with the relevant reference range for the marker.

Apple Health metrics

Weight, body fat, RHR, HRV, sleep, and workouts (with permission) feed into the analysis layer.

Bounds detection

When importing historical Apple Health data, the app detects the date range you actually have data for and only analyzes within those bounds.

📓 Daily Check-in & Symptom Tracking

The signal-to-noise ratio that surfaces protocol patterns.

Daily mood / sleep / libido / energy

A 30-second daily check-in with sliders and free-text notes.

Custom trackers

Build your own metrics (e.g. "skin clarity", "joint pain", "morning erection quality"). Numeric, scale, or yes/no.

Side-effect logging

Tag specific side effects (nausea, headache, injection site reaction, water retention, mood changes) per dose.

Tag system

User-defined tags for any pattern you want to track, applied to any log for filtering and analysis.

🤖 AI Summary

OptiPin's most-loved feature, patterns you'd never spot from staring at individual charts.

Weekly digest

Pulls dose history, daily check-ins, weight trend, and lab markers into a narrative summary of how the week went.

Month-in-review

Longer-form monthly summary: what changed, what improved, what plateaued, what to discuss at your next clinic visit.

Pattern detection

Surfaces correlations like "Friday slump on weekly TRT", "GLP-1 nausea peak window", "lab markers trending toward action threshold".

Selectable perspectives

Choose how the summary frames your data (clinical, motivational, plain-language, bodybuilder coach).

Deep Bloodwork analysis

Optional separate analysis pass focused specifically on your lab trends with citation-grounded interpretation.

Feedback loop

Thumbs up/down on each summary trains future summaries toward what you find useful.

📦 Inventory & Reorder

Vial inventory you never have to think about until you need to.

Per-compound inventory

Tracks open dates, doses remaining, and discard windows per vial.

Discard alerts

Compound-specific stability windows (28 days for most reconstituted GLP-1s, 30 days for most reconstituted GH peptides, longer for TRT vials).

Reorder reminders

Configurable alerts when supply drops below a threshold you set.

Cost-per-dose calculator

Factors in vial size, BAC water dilution, dose, and discard windows so the actual price-per-shot is visible.

Multi-vial tracking

When you start a new bottle of a medication you already have, log against the same medication entry. Inventory updates without recreating the medication.

📊 Analysis & Charts

Visualize the trends behind your protocol.

Hormone history charts

Testosterone, DHT, E2, and GLP-1 levels over time with dose markers overlaid.

Weight trend

Tracks scale weight, body fat (when available from Apple Health), and lean-mass proxies.

Medication impact view

For any medication, shows correlated changes in mood, sleep, libido, weight, and labs.

Monthly summary view

Roll-up by month with cycle phase context.

Cycle phase tracking

For peptide users running on/off cycles, mark cycle phase boundaries so analysis respects them.

💾 Backup & Restore
